Learn More		2009 State Legislative Issues   The 2009 legislative session, a most unusual session, ended May 21, some three weeks early. The House and the Senate each took several weeks off during the traditional session calendar in order save the state money, while they focused almost exclusively on the state budget. Issues, like the cigarette tax, payday lending and port restructuring were debated along with other highly visible issues. A full legislative report will be available to SCACPA members in the July/August issue of the South Carolina CPA Report.   Click here to see a list of legislative issues the SCACPA Legislative Committee and the State and Local Tax Task Force (SALT) have been monitoring specifically on your behalf. IMPORTANT: CPE Registrations August-December 2009 SCACPA is in the process of launching a new and improved Web site that will serve as a much more useful tool for members.  Because of the effort being put into the new Web site, CPE courses through the remainder of the year are currently unavailable online.  However, registration is open!
